Unibet is one of the biggest online bookmakers on the planet, serving millions of punters every single year. However, as you’ve probably learned by now, size means nothing! Being a big name does not mean they are any good.

The truth is that despite their long-standing history, recently I’ve found a lot of players voicing concerns about the site. So in this Unibet app review, I’m going to give you an idea of what to expect when betting there – and why you should strongly consider not betting at Unibet.
Alternatives to Unibet
If you’re looking to download a top betting app, Unibet is not the place. Here are some much better alternatives that rate highly in 2021…

Key Features
One of the biggest complaints I came across online when looking at player’s experiences at Unibet is the bet-limiting measures the bookie appears to implement on punters. It’s completely normal for bookmakers to reduce the amount of money punters can wager on events, if that punter has been winning a lot of money. However, many bettors at Unibet appear to have had their accounts severely limited for winning nominal amounts of money. For example, one complaint read that a bettor was only allowed to wager $1 or less – because they won $130 on another bet. What’s worse, when they voiced their concerns to Unibet they were given the hand – they weren’t willing to look into the case and consider revoking the limit.
This seems to be a really common theme at Unibet, and there are hundreds of punters voicing similar concerns online. Also worrying is the number of bettors stating Unibet are deliberately stalling their withdrawals. Later on in this review I’m going to be taking a closer look at this – I strongly suspect it has something to do with the so-called SOW (Source of Wealth) requests.
Website / App Design & Ease Of Use
As much as I don’t like the site, one thing I can’t really fault Unibet on is their website’s layout and ease of use. Everything is pretty well laid out, and navigation around the different markets is as simple as possible.
I think the biggest issue I have with the layout is the live betting/in-play section. The events are displayed in a way that makes it quite confusing – and if you’re in a rush (which I find is all too often the case when placing in-play bets) it can all get a bit confusing.
There’s also a downloadable Unibet app which is available to iOS and Android users. It’s free to download – but to be honest it’s not too different from their mobile-optimized website. Both the mobile app and the mobile-optimized website work pretty well – but it’s not the fastest, and creating an account on the mobile app could definitely be easier.
Software
Unibet’s sports betting software appears to be proprietary. However, if you play in their online casino you’ll be played on Playtech’s platform – one of the world’s largest iGaming companies.
Choice of Betting Markets
Unibet offers quite a large selection of betting markets, and you’ll be able to place bets on: American Football, Athletics, Australian Football, Badminton, Bandy, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Chess, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, Entertainment, Floorball, Football, Formula 1, Futsal, Golf, Greyhounds, Handball, Horse Racing, Ice Hockey, MMA, Martial Arts, MotoGP, Motor Sports, Olympic Games, Politics, Rugby, Snooker, Speedway, Surfing, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, Water Polo, Winter Sports, and Baseball.
I think it’s fair to say Unibet’s sports offering is good – but one area where they could improve is the quality of their odds. If you compare their odds to other major bookmakers – time and time again, you’ll find that Unibet’s odds are worse. This seems to be particularly prevalent with football and horse racing.
Banking – Deposit/Withdrawal Options
When it comes to depositing and withdrawing, Unibet offers far fewer payment methods than I would have expected to see at a global bookie. Currently, players can deposit and withdraw using VISA, MasterCard, Skrill, Neteller, Webmoney, ecoPayz, paysafecard and – in some countries – Instant Banking.
There are no fees attached to depositing, and funds are credited to your player account instantly.
On the face of it, Unibet’s withdrawal structure looks attractive. They have a huge daily withdrawal limit of $/£250,000 – more than most people will ever need to withdraw. However, my main concern arises when you look at the speed at which they are processing withdrawals.
Three or four years ago, I remember reading that Unibet was processing withdrawals incredibly quickly – often in as little as a few hours. However, a quick glance online shows this just isn’t the case anymore – and some bettors are being made to wait days or weeks for their withdrawals to be processed.
What’s worse, many of these bettors are being made to undergo extremely stringent SOW checks. This requires them to upload proof of their income – as part of the UK Gambling Commission’s new commitment to ensuring players are gambling within their means.
Unfortunately, the rules are very unclear – and some online gambling sites are choosing to take a heavy-handed approach. What’s worse is that Unibet is asking players to provide this information only when making a withdrawal. They are happy for players to deposit as much money as they like – but when it comes to withdrawing, players must undergo these checks.
This alone is enough for me to recommend you stay well away from Unibet. Here at Mobile Betting Site you’ll find information about tons of reputable, fast-paying bookmakers – so make sure you take a look around and read our in-depth reviews.
Safety and Security
Unibet holds two online gambling licenses, one from the UK Gambling Commission and one from the Maltese Gaming Authority. This is promising, at least, as both of these operators are known for ensuring licensees are adhering to laws and regulations. Don’t forget though; just because Unibet are holding a license, it doesn’t mean they’re treating their customers fairly.
In 2019 Platinum Gaming Ltd, who own Unibet, were made to pay a fine of £1.6m for failing to identify gambling harm and prevent money laundering.
Whenever I see actions like this taken against a site for anything to do with failing to protect vulnerable people, or helping to fund organised crime through money laundering, it is a major red flag for me and I will never bet with a site that does this.
In terms of their website’s safety and security I was happy to see their SSL certificate is valid and up-to-date. This ensures bettor’s sensitive information is safe and secure. That’s fine, but doesn’t do anything to mitigate the other issues.
Customer Service/Support
Like most of the larger bookmakers I come across, Unibet offers three ways for customers to get in touch with their customer support team; live chat, email and phone. Their support centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week too, so if you do run into problems (and that’s quite likely!) you should be able to speak to someone no matter what time of day it is.
Personally, I’d always recommend you get in touch using the live chat facility. This will connect you with one of the customer support reps in just a minute or two. If you decide to go ahead and email them, be prepared to wait between 24-48 hours. Their email response times are poor, and this support option should only be used as a last resort.
Currencies
Unibet does actually offer a decent selection of currencies. This includes BRL, CHF, CZK, DKK, EUR, GBP, HUF, LTL, NOK, PLN, RON, SWK, and USD.
Allowed Countries
Unibet restricts players from the following countries from placing bets at their site: Afghanistan, Australia, Denmark, Estonia, Ethiopia, France and other French territories, Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, North Korea, Pakistan, Philippines, Portugal, Spain, Syria, Turkey, Romania, Ireland, United States of America and other U.S. territories, and Yemen.
Summary: Do Not Join
I hope this Unibet review has convinced you that this is not a good place to bet online. But the positive news is that there are lots of great betting sites and apps out there, as well as a few rogue ones. Check out our other reviews and pick one that offers you the service you deserve.

While Unibet is well-known on the global scene, it’s the new kid in the United States.
Unibet online casino debuted in early 2019 to serve the New Jersey market and followed up with its Unibet Sportsbook several months later.
Although Unibet is new to the US, the company brings decades of experience since beginning operations in 1997. Entering NJ was merely the first step, as the company has subsequently opened in Pennsylvania as well. Indiana joined next, andColorado is expected to become the fourth state with a Unibet online sportsbook. Michigan is slated to be open its digital doors to waiting sports bettors soon as well.
So, what will new users find at this sportsbook? Is the platform a winner with enticing deposit bonuses? For the answers to these questions and everything else about Unibet Sportsbook Online, read on.
Unibet welcome bonus
As the legal sports betting marketplace in the US continues to expand, the competition among operators is getting more fierce.
Unibet brings a couple of bonuses that will undoubtedly make it worth your while to sign up.
Bettors who are 21 years or older will receive $20 in free bets when you create a new account.
No deposit is necessary to take advantage of this offer.
The bonus comes in the form of two $10 bets for you to try out the platform.
If you plan on depositing, then Unibet will allow you to place your first cash bets, risk-free, up to $250. You must bet a minimum of $10. Let’s walk through how these offers work.
For those who sign up for the free bonus bets, your account will receive a credit of $20, which you can use as two $10 free bets. The bets can be used anywhere in the book. These funds are not withdrawable, but any winnings obtained from them are fair game.
In regards to the $250 risk-free bet, it applies to your first real-cash settled wager. So, let’s say you go for the gusto with the max wager of $250. If you’re on the money and win, your account is now that much bigger.
If things don’t break in your favor, Unibet will credit the $250 back to your account for you to play through on the site.
These are solid reasons to check out Unibet, as the company hopes you’ll stick around for a while.

Unibet VIP, loyalty rewards
As of now, Unibet Sportsbook does not offer any loyalty or rewards programs.
That makes it one of the outliers, as several online operators offer additional incentives for users to continue playing. We’ll see if that changes in the future, but if you’re looking for a VIP program at Unibet, you’re currently out of luck.
Redeem rewards at retail locations
Since there isn’t a VIP rewards program at Unibet, redemption at retail locations is a no-go.
Interestingly, Unibet has opened up a retail sportsbook at Mohegan Sun Pocono. The book is more than 1,000 square feet and located near the main casino entrance.
Amenities include a bar, video wall and betting terminals. Since Unibet is taking steps both in retail and online, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a rewards program before too long.
Is Unibet Sportsbook legal and safe?
Yes, Unibet is legal and safe to use in markets the company has entered. Unibet traces its roots back to 1997. Since that time, the company has achieved impressive growth in a number of international markets.
Unibet first entered the US market in early 2019 with an online casino offering for New Jersey residents. That was followed by the release of a sportsbook to serve the Garden State. Here’s a summary of where Unibet stands in the following states.
- Unibet New Jersey: Unibet’s first foray into the US came in NJ with an online casino offering in early 2019. The company introduced a sportsbook in September of the same year. Unibet has a deal in place with Hard Rock Atlantic City to operate in the Garden State.
- Unibet Pennsylvania: Unibet is partnered up with Mohegan Sun Pocono in the Keystone State. A retail sportsbook bearing the Unibet name opened on site in September 2019. The online sportsbook officially launched in November 2019.
- Unibet Indiana: Unibet launched in Indiana in July of 2020. It is partnered with Caesars Horseshoe Hammond.
- Unibet Colorado: Unibet is scheduled to make Colorado the home of its fourth US Sportsbook in 2020.
- Unibet Michigan: We also expect to see Unibet launch in Michigan sooner than later.
- Unibet West Virginia: The company has not launched in West Virginia as of yet. Other operators are live there now and we would not be surprised to see Unibet arrive in the future.
While there are no specific details available at this time on where Unibet is headed next, the company’s targeted move into the US and previous commentary on expansion suggests there will be much more to come in the future.
Unibet Sportsbook: Create a new account
Signing up for an account on Unibetis a simple and straightforward process.

Unibet Sports Betting App Android
To play on Unibet, you must be physically located in a state where Unibet is operational. Unibet verifies this by using geolocation technology.
Assuming everything is good to go, you’ll need to enter a password. After that step, you can opt-in for bonus offers.
At last, you have created a Unibet account. You can explore the platform, deposit funds and place bets immediately if you so choose.
Download Unibet Sportsbook software
While Unibet is new to the US sportsbook market, it’s not new to the world of gaming.
The company traces its roots to 1997 and has extensive experience in both online casinos and sportsbooks. Unibet features a smooth platform that is easy to use and reflects its years of experience.
Unibet betting app review
Unibet offers mobile apps for iOS and Android users.
There’s a clickable link at the bottom of the main webpage that takes you to a new page with detailed instructions.
For iPhone and iPad users, you can download via the Apple App Store.
Android users must follow separate steps since it’s not in the Google Play store as of yet; however, Unibet explains how.
Here’s what we found while checking out the Unibet sports betting app:
- Availability: Unibet is available for iOS and Android devices. The former is up and running in the Apple App Store, while the latter requires you to visit the Unibet site to follow instructions for download.
- Speed: The app downloaded quickly and opened right up. As we clicked around, it was more of the same. The Unibet app is quick and responsive; we didn’t come across any lags.
- Overall Performance: The app experience is pretty slick. It’s easy to navigate, and we didn’t find any bugs that impeded performance. We were able to locate what we were looking for quickly.
- Markets: Unibet covers all the major betting markets, including football and basketball. It hosts niche sports as well, such as cricket and darts.
- Bet Slip: The betting slip was smooth and responsive without being overly sensitive. Adding games and events is as simple as clicking a button, and it’s just as easy to remove wagers as well. Bettors can minimize the slip and restore it without issue.
- General Layout: The layout is clean and easy on the eyes. It didn’t take a lot of hunting to find our way around.
- Cashier: The cashier function is responsive and easy to use. You can add and withdraw funds without issue.
Unibet browser, desktop review
In addition to putting together a solid mobile product, Unibet offers a winning desktop experience. The layout is clean and comfortable on the eyes.
After logging in, you’ll find clickable links at the top and bottom of the main page.
For example, there’s a dedicated “Promos” link up top that lists any current offers. Down below, you’ll find links for the sportsbook rules and bonus policy.
In the center, the default listing is for all of the current games. You’ll also see links for upcoming and highlighted games for the day.
Over on the left-hand side of the screen, you’ll find several clickable links for each of the sports offered on Unibet.
Here’s a list of Unibet’s available sports:
- Australian rules
- Boxing
- College basketball
- College football
- Cricket
- Cycling
- Darts
- Golf
- MLB
- Motorsports
- NBA
- NFL
- NHL
- Rugby Union
- Soccer
- Tennis
- UFC/MMA
In addition, various international sports offerings are available, including basketball and soccer. Clicking on an individual sport will populate the screen with live and upcoming events. You’ll also see a tab to click on for its futures markets.
After clicking on the sport of your choice, you’ll find a layout that’s similar to other sportsbooks.
For example, clicking on “NFL” will list out all of the week’s upcoming games. Odds for the spread, total points and moneyline will immediately be listed.
Clicking on “More Wagers” for each game will open up the different markets available. Here, you’ll find things such as alternate lines, player props, touchdown markets and other game-specific wagers.
If you’re looking for live in-game bets, there’s a dedicated link for that in the left-hand column.
Right below that is a link for contests that are starting soon. The “My Bets” feature makes it easy to track your bets without having to go through your account link.

Unibet overall user experience
For our test, we found the experience on Unibet to be a solid one. Both the online and mobile platforms are clean, responsive and easy to use.
The navigation is clear cut, and the bet slip and cashier functions are intuitive.
How does Unibet benefit casual bettors?
Casual bettors will profit from a platform that’s easy to use and not intimidating.
The layout is visually appealing, and it’s simple to find what you are looking for without having to make a lot of clicks. There’s an extensive list of sportsbook rules at the bottom of the page, as well as several support options.
How does Unibet benefit experienced bettors?
Generally, experienced bettors know what they want.
While bells and whistles are fine, most importantly, a solid layout, efficient betting markets, an assortment of deposit and withdrawal options and a trusted operator are a must-have. Unibet covers all those fronts.
Unibet betting options
Visitors to the Unibet website or app will find that the sportsbook offers all of the major wagers a sports betting fan wants.
For team sports, Unibet offers moneylines, totals and spread bets where applicable.
Also, there are prop bets, futures markets, live betting opportunities and various other game-specific wagers.
The same applies to individual sports. If it’s a sport that creates a decent amount of betting interest, the chances are that you’ll find it at Unibet.
From the major leagues, such as betting on the NBA or NFL, to individual sports like golf and MMA, to niche offerings like cycling and rugby union, they’re all here.
Clicking on each of the sports will reveal a glimpse of its upcoming events. You’ll see the current odds and all of its applicable bet types.
Also, you can click on a single game or event to view its additional markets and check out the futures tab for other available markets.
If you like to stick to the basics and focus on moneyline and totals wagers, click on your choice next to the listed game and it will appear on your bet slip.
You can delete and add selections from the ticket with ease, which appears on the right-hand part of the screen. It’s not intrusive, but you can minimize it as needed.
As for additional markets on the games, we found that Unibet offers a robust selection of additional wagering opportunities that’s similar to other sportsbooks.

What’s not available at Unibet
Unibet includes all of the popular sports so that you won’t be lacking for options. There’s a wide array of games available, as well as numerous bet types for each.
You can find futures markets by merely clicking on the sport of your choosing.
The same applies to prop and additional wagering opportunities, which you can find by clicking on an individual game or event. While there may be a tiny niche sport or exotic bet at another sportsbook, you’ll find everything you would expect at this major sportsbook operator.
Unibet odds boost
Odds boosts is one area in which we feel Unibet lacks in comparison to its competitors.
For many of the sites we have visited, there’s a dedicated banner for current promos and odds boosts right around the center of the homepage.
While we like that Unibet’s layout is clean and devoid of clutter, we didn’t find a banner. However, there is a link for promos at the top of the page.
Also, there’s a “Profit Boosts” link in the left-hand column.
During our test, the profit boost link was offering parlay boosts ranging from 10%-30% with terms and conditions attached.
The promos tab didn’t offer much either, but there is an exciting Pigskin Parlay promotion, in which users have a chance at a larger prize by hitting specific metrics.
For now, the odds boosts at Unibet requires work, but we’ll see what the company has to offer as time moves along.
Unibet pricing
The sports betting market in the US continues to grow at an astronomical rate. Competition among operators is fierce, and bettors are becoming more educated as the industry continues to evolve.
To survive today’s marketplace, sportsbooks have to be in line with what the market will support, if not better. While not every book will have the same odds listed all the time, those that are way off will stick out like a sore thumb.
Overall, we found Unibet to be pretty in tune. The company may be new to the US, but it has operated in the competitive European market for years.
Unibet Sports Betting App Android Download
For standard bets such as spreads and totals, you’ll find the typical odds of -110 with the occasional outlier based on market action.
The spreads and totals were right in line with where they should be. For example, an upcoming NFL game between the New England Patriots and New York Jets has average odds across the industry of the former favored by 10 points and a total of 43.
Unibet was right on the ball on the spread, but the total sat at 42.5 during our review.
For moneyline bets, we found some games that were in line with the market, and others that were off the mark in both directions.
In short, you shouldn’t find many significant discrepancies on spreads and totals. There may be value to be found on moneylines, but you may also find better prices elsewhere.
For experienced bettors, that’s where line shopping comes into play.
For casual bettors and those new to sports betting, line shopping is a concept that’s worth getting to know.
How to deposit and cash out winnings?
Any reputable sportsbook operator is going to offer several ways to add and remove your money.
Naturally, some operators will offer more than others. On Unibet, we found the right amount of options, which we list below.
Deposit Method | Unibet NJ | Unibet PA | Unibet CO |
---|---|---|---|
Credit card | Yes | Yes | TBA |
Prepaid Card | Yes | Yes | TBA |
PayPal | Yes | Yes | TBA |
ACH / eCheck/VIP Preferred | Yes | Yes | TBA |
Online Bank Transfer | Yes | Yes | TBA |
PayNearMe | Yes | Yes | TBA |
Neteller | No | No | TBA |
Skrill | No | No | TBA |
Wire Transfer | Yes | Yes | TBA |

Standard options include Visa and Mastercard, as well as other convenient options.
Unibet offers a Play+ card that you can sign up for, as well as PayPal. Both make it easy to deposit and withdraw funds if you have a bank or financial institution that tends to flag gambling-related transactions.
The cashier function itself is smooth and intuitive.
You will find it under “My Account,” which is in the upper-right corner of the main page.
During our test, it took only a few clicks for either scenario, and deposits were processed quickly.
How to contact customer support
Before signing up for any online sportsbook, it’s always a good idea to review the customer support options.
Unibet Pa App
Unibet offers a live chat feature, a dedicated phone number and supports email inquiries.
The phone and chat options are available 24/7. There’s also a dedicated “Help” section with an FAQ, which features some additional information.
One nitpick: There’s a live chat icon that’s visible on the main screen; however, it took some clicking around to find the other support options.
At the top of the screen is a “Get Started” link, which takes you to those sections. While we were able to find the help section, it would be nice to have dedicated links from the main page.

History of Unibet
Unibet Sports Betting App Android Studio
Unibet was founded in 1997 and is part of the Kindred Group family. The main headquarters is located in Malta, but the company has several locations around the globe. The company first entered the US market in 2019 with the launch of an online casino product in NJ.
That was followed by its introduction of a mobile and online sportsbook for Garden State bettors.
The company has since opened a retail location at Mohegan Sun Pocono in PA and has debuted an online product there, too.
Indiana bettors now have a Unibet sportsbook as well, with many more states expected to come still.
