Typically, NJ online sportsbooks offer free bets and matched welcome bonuses, along with standing and one-off promotions. Here is what players using theScore will receive:

  • No-Deposit Offer: Most major NJ betting brands offer a free bet bonus simply for registering, with no deposit or credit card information needed. These range from $10 to $30. Some need special promo codes; others are automatically awarded to newly registered players. Expect some restrictions in how long the bonus lasts and a minimum odds level needed.
  • Matched Welcome Bonus: Sportsbooks incentivize deposits by matching your first one with bonus money. The amount varies, with anything from $100 to $1000 possible – usually at 100%. You’ll need to wager this bonus money before it can be withdrawn. Sportsbooks have wide variations in how many times they require ‘play-though’, ranging from 1x all the way to 20x.
  • Risk-Free First Bet: Instead of a matched bonus, some NJ sportsbooks remove the risk from your first bet. This returns your stake in the form of a bonus bet if your first wager loses. Again, there are often play-through requirements.

Incentivizing readers to switch from content to betting is only one aspect of the long-term success for theScore. The next part is keeping bettors loyal to their apps.

A common way to do this is with a mixture of promotions and a loyalty points scheme.

Points schemes at online sportsbooks take two main forms. Some are simple flat cash-back schemes. This lets you switch points collected for bonus bets or cash on demand. The other main type uses tiers. As you climb levels, the bonuses and extras get bigger and better. If you are a high-roller, then look out for VIP levels, which can come with custom bonus deals.

Promotions are a natural way for theScore to market. Their media coverage of big events will naturally lead to special betting offers. As well as one off promotions for big sporting events, there are usually standing offers. These can include reload bonuses, insurance for parlays or overtime scores, guaranteed best odds or extra loyalty scheme points for specific types of bet.

If not, then iPhone and iPad users will need to use the responsive mobile website as an interim measure.

Android users will be able to download theScore sports betting app from the main website (not the Play store).
